At the start of 2017, we made a list of goals we wanted to meet throughout the year. Here is our list with our end of year updates.

1. Secure A Grant

  • We submitted 15 grants throughout 2017 and on Monday we found out our application to the Joseph Drown Foundation was approved for $10,000!

2. Pilot & Launch New Program

  • In April we piloted and launched our Achievers PLUS ME program working with over 80 seniors at 2 high schools in the San Fernando Valley.

3. Get Accepted To A Professional Development Program

  • Yesterday we received word that we were accepted into 2018's SVPLA's Fast Pitch cohort. We are one of 20 semifinalists that will be trained on how to perfect our pitch!

4. Form At Least 20 Partnerships

  • Throughout 2017 we secured over 30 partnerships with organizations that support our work including Alliance GEAR UP, Playworks, After School All Stars, and EduCare Foundation.

5. Implement Calendar Year End Campaign

  • We were thrilled to launch our first ever multimedia year end campaign featuring videos, blog posts, mailers, and a new giving page with levels.

6. Conduct A Program In A New City

7. Implement New Donor & Partner Database

  • At the start of 2017 we received a Salesforce grant allowing us full access to their nonprofit version at no cost. Throughout the year we had help from a Taproot volunteer to transfer all our data into our new CRM database.

8. Visit 75 Schools & Impact 15,000 Students

  • Throughout the year we conducted our program work in front of 17,225 students at 97 sites.

9. Add 2 New Board Members

  • In 2017 we added 4 board members to our diverse team and will be launching an advisory council in 2018.

10. Speak At 3 Conferences

  • We had the opportunity to speak at 6: Best Out Of School Time (BOOST) Conference in Palm Spring, Charter Schools Development Center Conference in San Diego, Western Association for College Admission Counseling Conference in Los Angeles, Leadership Association of Student Councils in Anaheim, California Association of Directors of Activity Area E Conference in Pomona, and CHOICES Conference in Whittier.

It was a remarkable year for PLUS ME. What will 2018 bring us? Stay tuned.
