Over the next seven weeks, we will be sharing details about all 7 Road To A Million goals and our plan to meet (or surpass) each of them. This week, we are digging into the big one: Raising 1 Million Dollars!

Why It Matters

This year our budget will hit $1 million for the very first time. That is a big deal for any nonprofit, but especially huge here in LA County where only 9% of nonprofits reach that level. By reaching this milestone, PLUS ME will also enter into a new budget threshold qualifying us for more grant and sponsorship opportunities from foundations and corporations that require organizations to have at least a $1 million budget to be considered for funding.

How We Will Achieve It

Last year our budget was just under $700,000, so this number is ambitious but achievable. About 60% of our million dollar goal will come from the service revenue we earn from our workshops, 20% will come from foundation grants, and the final 20% will come from individuals, groups, and corporations.

What It Will Fund

These funds will allow our team of 14 to carry out our mission and reach the other six goals we have named in our campaign: Reach 100,000 Students, Provide 10,000 Journals, Inspire 1,000 Supporters, Serve 100 Schools, Award 10 Scholarships, and Share 1 Story.

Where We Are Today

As we near the end of the 2nd month on our Road To A Million, we are super proud to report that we already have over 40% of our goal secured from committed donations, grants, and services!
